| 4 door hardtop. I purchased this Oldsmobile
from the original owners, a retired couple, in Florida 15 years ago and
used it as our personal vehicle in Florida. I do not believe passengers
had ever been in the back seat. It has never been driven in winter
conditions and there is no rust on it. No accidents or fender benders.
Original mileage 109,000.
I am a retired tool and die-maker and I have always maintained all my
vehicles in top condition. During the time in Florida, I had the air
conditioning system converted to the new refrigerant requirements, new
brakes, new steering linkage, new radiator and water pump, and other
minor maintenance. New tires now have about 2000 miles on them. I had
the vinyl roof replaced the same as the original; the paint on the
vehicle is the original. There had been a small minor paint touch-up,
(not very professionally done) under the rear window on the left side,
when I purchased the car. The pictures verify that it has been kept
under cover, waxed and polished regularly.
Due to age and ill health, we sold our home in Florida 4 years ago
and I had the vehicle brought up to Ontario by auto transporter. In
order to license it here a "Vehicle Inspection" was required
and all it needed was a new muffler. I immediately had it undercoated,
although I have only used it here for summer pleasure drives.
This vehicle was appraised 5 years ago in Florida at $6000. USD. and
since then has reached the 30 year old mark which makes it now an
antique and more valuable. The 4 door hard top makes it unique for
parades as there is no center post when the windows are down. It was
used as a Parade Marshall's car in a recent Santa Clause parade.
My wife is now in a nursing home and I am in my eighties, so I guess
it's time to say goodbye to my baby. I hope someone buys her that
appreciates the quality and craftsmanship of those years, treat her with
respect and let her age gracefully. (Ontario, Canada)
